It’s September! If you’ve been following Purrfect Pet Sitting for any length of time you will remember that every September for the last 6 years we’ve done an annual calendar cover photo contest.
Unfortunately, we have decided that this year we will NOT be running a 7th Annual Calendar Cover Photo Contest.
WHY NOT!?
Well, there are several reasons actually. Among them are:
It’s expensive: It costs us a close to a thousand dollars to pay for the program that runs the contest; the prize for the winner, plus the cost of having the calendars printed and postage for those that we mail.
People complain: Without fail, every single year I get complaints from people who didn’t win. Every. Single. Year. I could understand if the photos that the complainants submitted were calendar worthy, but most were not. One year I even had to block someone because they harassed me so much!
People don’t use paper calendars: We’ve heard from a lot of people that they just don’t use paper calendars anymore, they use their phones.
All that being said, don’t panic if you LOVE our calendar!
We WILL still be doing a calendar for 2020.
Our distribution will be much smaller, but we will have a few that we’ll be giving away through some contests.
If you REALLY love our calendar and would like to pre-order one, let us know! The cost will be $20, which would include sales tax and shipping. Pre-orders must be placed by 10/1/19.
The animal lover that I am, I will truly miss the calendar! I don’t need a contest. I just enjoy seeing pictures of all the pets.
Fear not! You’ll still be getting one! We ARE still doing a calendar, just cutting way back on the distribution.
