August 4, 2020 marks a HUGE milestone for Purrfect Pet Sitting! We turn TWENTY years old! That’s 140 in dog years!
It’s pretty rare in this day and age for any business to last twenty years, let alone a pet sitting business.
Most pet sitting businesses close within the first two years.
The reasons for this are many. The main reason is that pet sitting can be all consuming. Pet sitters work 24/7/365. We work mornings, afternoons and evenings. We work weekends and holidays.
The pet sitting business has a high rate of burnout.
For me, hiring employees greatly helped with that issue.
We are proud to be the highest rated, longest operating professional pet sitting and dog walking service in Rensselaer County!
We have pet sat for over a thousand clients and have cared for THOUSANDS of pets! We have cared for everything from the standard dogs and cats to chinchillas, sugar gliders and even tarantulas!
2020 was on target to be our most successful year ever but then COVID-19 hit. I certainly didn’t envision out 20th year in business being closed for more than three months! But we will persevere.
To all of you reading this, THANK YOU! Without YOU we would never have lasted this long. Without YOU we wouldn’t be able to do something we love for a living.
