So often you read nothing but negative reviews online. People who have a bad experience will ten people but someone who has a good experience may only tell one. There are so many good businesses in our area and we’d like to take a moment to give a shout out to some of our favorites. Customer service isn’t dead, it’s just not as common as it used to be. Those places that do go the extra mile and provide stellar customer service should be recognized. If you haven’t heard of these businesses, check them out. We don’t recommend places lightly.
Field Goods; Athens, NY
Field Goods delivers fresh veggies, bread, pasta and cheese weekly to your workplace. They also have public locations where you can pick up your weekly subscription. I have been getting the “small” bag for $20 each week and have been very impressed with the items we get. Occasionally something may arrive unusable but if you contact customer service they happily credit you for the item. They have excellent customer service. You don’t have to sign up for any length of time, you can hold your subscription or cancel at any time. They send you an email on Monday letting you know what they plan on having in the bag that week. I love my weekly Field Goods delivery!
Pellegrino Importing; Rensselaer, NY
Pellegrino’s is my go to place for cold cuts. They carry Boar’s Head brand which is gluten free (I have Celiac Disease). The crew that works there is fantastic, always attentive and they get to know every customer. The next time you come in they greet you by name. They also have a good selection of Italian imports and frozen products. I couldn’t find a website for them.
Asian Tea House; Rensselaer, NY
(Formerly Yip’s Restaurant) My husband and I love sushi but we both have some dietary restrictions. I’m gluten free and he can’t have any nuts or seeds and is low fat so eating out can be a challenge for us. We followed the owners from their last location. We were SO glad when they put in the sushi bar. They always go over and above for us to make sure our meals are safe. They kept the Yip’s old menu (even the cook stayed) and added sushi so it’s the best of both worlds.
G. Urschel’s Fuel Service; Averill Park, NY
George Urschel of G. Urschel’s Fuel Service in Averill Park is one of the most honest, hardworking guys I’ve ever met. He’s very particular (like me!) and pays attention to the details. He doesn’t have a website, but his phone number is (518) 674-1138.
Schodack Auto; Castleton on Hudson, NY
We’ve taken our vehicles to Schodack Auto a few times and have been very impressed with their service. The last time they even gave my husband a ride home! Who does that?
So what about you? What businesses have provided you with stellar customer service or products that you would like to share with us? Of course we hope WE are at the top of your list!
