I’m sure you all saw the story about the cat hoarders in Schaghticoke, NY on the news and in the papers recently. This is not the first time they have been called to this residence and it is estimated that, in all, they’ve taken 450 cats from this home. Can you even IMAGINE?!?!?!
Needless to say Mohawk Hudson Humane Society is overwhelmed right now trying to care for this many cats at a time when their facility is just about full and budgets are low.
How can you help?
First, they are accepting cash donations. Second, they are looking for foster homes with an area that they can isolate potentially contagious cats from their own pets.
They are also in need of canned cat food, cat litter and towels.
Our local pet sitters network, Capital Area Professional Pet Sitters, is accepting donations of food, litter and towels and we will deliver them to the Humane Society.
Purrfect Pet Sitting will be accepting donations of these items until November 11th and will be bringing the donations to the CAPPS monthly meeting on November 12th for distribution to the Humane Society.
If you would like to donate canned cat food, cat litter and/or towels please let us know.
If you are currently on our schedule for dog walking or pet sitting you can just leave the items at your home and we will pick them up during our visits. If you don’t have any services scheduled please contact me and we will arrange a time for pickup.
Thank you so much!
