In my fifth grade yearbook we had to choose what we wanted to be when we grew up. I wanted to be a veterinarian. When I was growing up my father had a farm and I LOVED spending time tending to the animals. We had a little bit of everything – horses, cows, pigs, chickens, dogs and cats and I loved them all. I took riding lessons and just couldn’t get enough of being around the horses. As I got older I decided that I couldn’t deal with the blood and gore, nor the people who don’t treat their furry friends well so I went to work for a bank. Several years later I had a much better job, but I still felt the longing to work with animals. A very good friend suggested pet sitting and the light bulb went on! After all, I was always the person everyone asked to watch their pets anyway!
I remembered going on vacation one year and debated what to do with my cat. I couldn’t put him in a kennel. I couldn’t just leave him home alone with a big bowl of food and felt bad begging my friends and family. I ended up having a friend stay at my house. I came home a few days early and found a MESS! I vowed right then and there that when I took care of someone’s pets I would treat their home and animals as if they were my own. I want my clients to know they can relax while they’re away knowing that two things they value most; their home and pets, are in good hands.
Hiring a virtual stranger to hand your keys over to is a very hard decision; one which I completely understand. I strive to ease the minds of my clients and can provide stellar references from both existing clients and local veterinarians. It is my clients that allow me to have a career that I love and I value and respect each and every one of them.
To date, Purrfect Pet Sitting has served over a thousand clients and thousands of pets in Southern Rensselaer County.
I am owned by two cats; Bob and Eddie Spagheddie and two dogs, both Jack Russell Terriers, named Chewy and Parker Schnabel (aka Schnibble Dibble).
I look forward to meeting you and your pets and assisting you in your pet care needs.
